Dr. Wole Olaleye


Dr. Wole Olaleye is an esteemed expert in public governance, democratisation, political parties, elections, and performance monitoring and evaluation. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Governance from the University of the Witwatersrand, a Master of Philosophy in Social Science Research Methodology from Stellenbosch University, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Social Development from the University of the Western Cape, Dr. Olaleye brings a wealth of academic knowledge and practical experience to his work.

With over 20 years of experience across diverse international organizations, Dr. Olaleye has consistently delivered exceptional performance in various roles. As a democratic governance researcher, campaign director, and program manager, he has demonstrated his ability to produce high-quality work and achieve outstanding results. His expertise in report writing, critical thinking, and analytical skills has earned him recognition and respect from clients and colleagues alike.

Throughout his career, Dr. Olaleye has successfully managed complex interventions and programs. Notably, he oversaw the timely implementation of four interrelated interventions, including African Heritage research, youth in elections and governance, scholarship and leadership development, and regional dialogues. Through his effective management, these initiatives not only achieved organizational priorities but also contributed to the development of a pan-African youth movement.

Dr. Olaleye has a strong background in monitoring, evaluation, and information systems. He has developed robust systems to track program activities, prepare reports for funding partners, and inform management decision-making. Additionally, he has facilitated high-level dialogues on important topics such as Diversified Workforce for the Future, African Heritage, Transformation of Africa’s Agriculture, and Zimbabwe Democratisation and Prospect for Reforms (post-2018 general elections) in countries including Kenya, South Africa, and Mozambique.

Building strategic partnerships is another area of Dr. Olaleye’s expertise. He has successfully established collaborations with universities across Africa and secured significant funding of USD 2.6 million for the scholarship and leadership development program from the Mastercard Foundation in 2019.

Dr. Olaleye’s contributions extend beyond program management. He has designed and implemented education finance campaign toolkits, conducted national baseline surveys on performance monitoring and evaluation culture, and provided academic support to master’s degree students at renowned institutions like the University of Witwatersrand (Wits) School of Governance and Wits Business School. He has also conducted interviews with senior public sector managers, presenting his research findings to project steering committees for informed decision-making.
